The Training Center for Solar Energy Engineering, established within the framework of the DEBSEUz Project (Developing Bachelor Programs and Short-Term Training in Solar Energy in Uzbekistan), serves as a modern hub for education, research, and professional development in renewable energy technologies. It represents a significant step in Uzbekistan’s transition toward a sustainable and green energy future.
The main goal of the Training Center is to bridge the gap between academic education and industry needs by providing highly specialized training in the installation, operation, and maintenance of solar energy systems. It focuses on developing both theoretical knowledge and hands-on skills aligned with European standards.
The Center supports:
Bachelor students enrolled in newly developed solar energy programs,
Engineers and technicians seeking to upgrade their qualifications, and
Professionals from related sectors (e.g., electrical engineering) undergoing reskilling.
Special emphasis is placed on the inclusion of women, unemployed individuals, and socially disadvantaged groups, ensuring equal access to high-quality technical education.
Each Training Center is equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories, demonstration zones, and autonomous solar power systems.
The facilities allow trainees to simulate real-world scenarios of renewable energy generation, system integration, and maintenance.
Key features include:
Innovative laboratory rooms for photovoltaic system design and testing;
Hands-on modules for solar installation and maintenance;
Smart monitoring systems for energy efficiency analysis;
Coworking spaces for student and mentor collaboration on solar technology projects.
The Center also functions as a living laboratory, where students and researchers can experiment with solar components, hybrid systems, and energy storage technologies.
The Training Center offers:
Bachelor-level courses developed under DEBSEUz (72 ECTS total);
Short-term professional courses for engineers and technicians;
Advanced training programs based on EU best practices;
Reskilling programs for electrical and mechanical engineers;
Workshops, seminars, and guest lectures delivered by European partners.
Through partnerships with universities in Portugal, Spain, and Poland, training content reflects the latest European innovations in solar energy education.
The Training Center acts as a national platform for:
Knowledge exchange between universities, research centers, and private companies;
Supporting foreign direct investment in the renewable energy sector;
Promoting international cooperation and innovation.
Its operation contributes to achieving the objectives of the Development Strategy of New Uzbekistan (2022–2026), particularly in ensuring access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy.
By 2026, the Training Centers established under DEBSEUz aim to:
Train over 100 technical specialists in solar energy systems;
Host annual national conferences on solar energy;
Develop a community of engineers and educators through the Engineering Society for Renewable Energy Supply Systems;
Strengthen Uzbekistan’s capacity to produce clean, carbon-free electricity through education, innovation, and skilled human resources.
