Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi (abbreviation – TUIT) was founded in 1955. Until 2002, it was called the Tashkent Electrotechnical Communications Institute (abbreviation – TEAI), and on June 1, 2002, by the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, it was transformed into a university and operated under the name Tashkent University of Information Technologies from 2002 to 2017. Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent (TTPU) is a non-profit higher education institution in Uzbekistan established on 27 April 2009 by a presidential decree and an agreement between the Government of Uzbekistan, Politecnico di Torino (Italy), and industrial partners. Its mission is to train highly qualified specialists for the automotive, mechanical, electrical, construction, and energy sectors in accordance with academic programs developed jointly with the Italian university.
