DEBSEUz Project Holds Its 3rd National Conference and Final Conference in Tashkent
The 3rd National Conference and Final Conference, organized within the framework of the DEBSEUz project, is being held from October 7 to 9, 2026, at the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers National Research University (TIIAME NRU) in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
The three-day event brings together representatives of partner universities, international experts, researchers, academics, and professionals to exchange knowledge, present research findings, and discuss innovative approaches to sustainable energy, environmental protection, and technological development.
Day 1 – Opening Ceremony and Scientific Sessions (October 7, 2026)
The first day of the conference began with an official opening ceremony at TIIAME NRU, featuring distinguished guests and representatives of national and international institutions.
The opening session included welcoming remarks and speeches by:
Prof. Dr. Bakhadir Mirzaev – Rector of TIIAME National Research University, Uzbekistan.
Prof. Abdulshukur Khamzayev – Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Central Council of the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan.
Prof. Dr. Obid Tursunov – ICESTE Founder and Scientific Chair, TIIAME National Research University, Uzbekistan.
Prof. Dr. Ismail Rakip KARAS – Vice Rector of Karabuk University, Türkiye.
Mr. Muzaffar Khakimov – Advisor to the Minister of Energy Inspection for Control in Electric Power Industry, Oil Products, and Gas Usage, Republic of Uzbekistan.
Mr. Ali Djuraev – Deputy Director of ABREST Energy Engineering, Uzbekistan.
The opening ceremony highlighted the importance of international academic cooperation, renewable energy development, sustainable technologies, and interdisciplinary scientific research.
Keynote Speeches and Research Presentations
Following the opening ceremony, the conference continued with a plenary session featuring four keynote presentations delivered by international experts from Portugal, China, Italy, and Malaysia.
The keynote presentations addressed important areas of sustainable energy and technological innovation, including:
Medium- and high-temperature solar applications.
Integration of renewable energy with charging infrastructure for sustainable road transportation.
Energy systems and transportation in Uzbekistan, with a focus on future hydrogen uptake.
Malaysian biomass valorization through torrefaction and pyrolysis processes.
The afternoon programme continued with scientific oral presentations covering a broad range of research topics, including solar energy applications, sustainable infrastructure, biomass conversion, agricultural energy technologies, environmental protection, advanced materials, and wastewater treatment.
According to the conference programme, eight oral research presentations were scheduled during the afternoon sessions, involving researchers from Uzbekistan and international partner institutions.
Overall, the first day featured 12 scheduled scientific presentations, including four keynote speeches and eight oral presentations, in addition to the official opening speeches.
The event provided an opportunity to strengthen international scientific collaboration, exchange research experience, and explore innovative solutions for sustainable development.
The conference will continue on October 8–9, 2026, with further scientific discussions, project-related activities, and sessions dedicated to advancing cooperation among participating institutions.
The DEBSEUz project continues to promote international cooperation, knowledge exchange, and capacity building in sustainable energy and environmental technologies.
