Local trainings for Uzbek partners are on the way

A local training was held in Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers, Republic of Uzbekistan on November 26, 2024. This local training was dedicated to promoting the topics discussed at the meeting held at the University of Evora from November 18 to 22. Participants learned about the fundamental principles of photovoltaic technology, including system components, design considerations, and operational efficiency. The session covered the latest advancements in PV technology and their implications for sustainable energy production. In addition to measuring solar radiation and calculating it, participants were given preliminary data on the database generated by these insolation measurements. That is, the PVSyst program was calculated using specific examples of which database it receives data on solar insolation and how incompatible it is with the regions in our country. Participants were also shown that the solar atlas created for our current country differs from the solar atlas based on data from real terrestrial meteorostations. This segment focused on CSP technologies, explaining their mechanisms and various types. Participants explored the advantages of CSP for large-scale energy generation and reviewed case studies of successful implementations around the world. The importance of energy storage in maximizing the efficiency of solar energy systems was discussed. Various storage methods were examined, including battery systems and thermal storage solutions, highlighting their roles in enhancing reliability and performance. Participants were introduced with the types of hybrid power plants and the principle of their operation. Also, in order to increase the efficiency of hybrid power plants launched in our country, the implementation of research and information about their results was provided. During the meeting, information and experience gained during a business trip to the University of Evora (Portugal) were used.
